  • Organic TEA TREE, “Nature's Antiseptic”. A powerful, unique, stimulting, camphorous scent.

100% PURE TEA TREE ESSENTIAL OIL, Tea Tree Essential Oil is naturally antiseptic, with a strong camphorous scent. It’s Latin name is Melaleuca alternifolia, and it’s from the Myrtaceae family. The essential oil is steam-distilled from the leafy part of the plant. This plant has a wide white coloured trunk with paper-like bark. The leaves are thin and oval shaped. Today, tea tree plants are commonly grown in South Africa, where the essential oils are distilled from the leaves, and packaged for sale to around the world. Tea tree oil has many beneficial uses in aromatherapy and healthcare.

Tea tree oil grew prolifically in Australia in the 18th century. When British sailors travelled to Sydney, Australia they discovered that the natives of the region brewed the leaves of the plant. They had been using it for its antiseptic and antibiotic properties. Naturally, this plant was brought back to the western world. In WWII tea tree oil was actually provided in medical kits given to soldiers on the field. Today, it’s one of the first essential oils to reach for when needing a natural antiseptic or astringent.

Tea tree oil has a wide range of therapeutic uses. It can be directly applied to skin to help kill the bacteria that cause acne flareups. It can also be used inside the mouth to help reduce plague and improve gum health. It’s also beneficial for tooth pain or infections. Tea tree oil is good for minor skin infections and fungal infections, such as dandruff, Candida, and athlete’s foot, due to its antiseptic and healing properties. It can also be used to kill lice and mites.

Many people with inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis have found tea tree oil beneficial in decreasing inflammation, softening dry flaky skin, and generally, healing these conditions faster. Tea tree oil can be purchased in an essential oil bottle. Unlike many of the other essential oils, tea tree oil is mild and safe enough for direct application to skin. Before using, ensure that you wash the affected regions with soap, water, and towel dry first. You can also apply tea tree oil directly under your armpits for use as a deodorant.

When using tea tree oil for cleansing the home, you may dilute it with water in a small spray bottle. Then spray onto countertops to clean, or around garbage bins to dissuade ants or other pests. You may also spray it onto your toothbrush to disinfect it, and pour up to three drops inside your humidifier to freshen it. To naturally soften the skin, use one small drop on the affected dry regions of your elbows, knees, cuticles, or feet. You’ll want to store your tea tree oil in an amber bottle and away from sunlight and heat. Ensure that you purchase only 100% pure tea tree oil, in order to obtain all of its natural healing properties.
